Tanzanite (green!)

A surprise of Tucson 2026 was a small lot of green Tanzanite (Zoisite) from Merelani. Green is one of the rarest colors to find in Tanzanite and I was happy to select from this lot of about 30 crystals, the majority of which were not terminated. The termination has a mixture of flat faces and more dimpled texture. Translucent with areas of transparency and the color is amazing with green, blue green, and a vivid teal blue/green depending on orientation. Well crystallized all around and undamaged. Weighs 11.48 grams.
